3 Tips for Healthy Living

Health experts say that most people who are into losing weight usually stray. They tend to go back to their old eating habits even after they learn to enjoy low fat eating. But despite the momentum toward weight gain, experts say you can stop it from happening. There are plenty of good reasons to avoid excess pounds, reasons that go beyond vanity or social acceptance. Moreover, health experts say that dietary fat promotes weight gain because it is a very dense source of calories. Also, when you consume excess calories from dietary fat, you store those calories as body fat more efficiently than excess calories from other sources.

So on this blog, I will talk about how you can maintain a healthy weight and lifestyle over the Holidays, and also going into the New Year.
I want to start by discussing why we sometimes overeat and what you can do if this is something that you do at times.

It has been my experience that I eat when I am lonely, upset, things just don't seem to go right in my day. Maybe some of you reading this blog would agree. This is the time of year when a lot of overeating takes place, as we prepare meals for the Holidays and invite family members over for family gatherings and gift giving. I know for me I have done a lot of overeating during these times. What I have found out is that a lot of times we mistake hunger for thirst.

So my first tip for healthy living is to drink a big glass of water I do this now when I'm hungry and I wait about 10 to 15 minutes. Try this and see if it works for you. Fact still being that it is a whole lot easier to prevent putting on pounds than to try losing them later.

#2. Clean out your kitchen cupboards, pantry and cabinets. Cleaning out the kitchen cabinets, and getting them into some sort of organized shape will help you to shed weight, will prevent you from eating something that should have been put in the bin a long, long time ago. Doing this gives you a feeling of balance to your life, which our bodies need to feel strong and healthy.

#3. Building a better healthier body begins with what you eat. What are you eating?
A reasonable approach to living a healthy lifestyle and losing weight is to stick to a diet that is high in complex carbohydrates, high in fiber, moderate in protein, and low in fat. It's true, you are what you eat.
